Thoughts on InfoQuest

Our children are growing up in times when everything is accessible with the click of a button. What used to entail hours of research through volumes of books is now downloaded in a matter of minutes. Artscroll books, while providing a valuable tool, eliminates the need to decipher and decode, translate and truly work through our Hebrew texts. How are children going to learn to develop the rigor and discipline of hard work and exertion of effort?

Enter InfoQuest.
One of the goals of the program is to assist the children in working towards total mastery of a unit of inforation through repition and review. While we're still adjusting and fine tuning the levels (what's with all those dates, anyway?!), it is apparent that our children are capable of and most enthusiastic about rising to the occasion, and have proven their ability to meet the challenge. We have succeeded in piquing their intellectual curiousity, and InfoQuest serves as a springboard for further discussion (as your feedback has attested).

My sincerest thanks to all the teachers and parents who have followed up on InfoQuest, reading through, explaining, and reviewing the basic points while encouraging, and reassuring the children, cheering them on and celebrating their success. In the final analysis, the truest celebration, is the opening of their minds and the sharpening of their skills in this quest for mastery.
